March "WIP Down" Pt. 2
Week 2: Momentum
While a stomach bug took me out of commission for a few days last week, I still managed to make some good progress on my March “WIP down”. My Basil Cardigan has been split for sleeves (!) and I’m knitting the body stockinette flat. Even on larger needles (I’m using US 8 needles), knitting the body portion of a sweater feels like it’s going to take forever. And then all of the sudden, it’s done! There’s no in between state for me. It’s either a dozen more inches to go or time for the ribbing.
I’m anticipating a game of yarn chicken since I only have four skeins of the yarn I started the project with. I’ve pulled a handful of additional skeins from my stash that I think will compliment the light blue yarn, but I haven’t decided how to bring those into the cardigan yet. Color block? Stripes? I’m open to suggestions!
My fair isle vest test knit project is steeked and the button band is halfway done. I used a needle felted reinforcement for the steek stitches for the first time, and I found it not only incredibly easy and fast but also sans any extra bulk like the crochet reinforcement I’ve used in the past. I’m excited to share more about this project when the pattern is released!
I tinkered on the baby sweater project one evening, but otherwise that’s all of my updates! I would love to be finished with the body of my Basil Cardigan this time next week, and I have a feeling that the two mitten projects won’t be touched for a few more weeks.

So impressed with your steeking and I need to keep that reinforcement in mind for whenever I gather up the courage to steek for the first time !!
